A community celebration for the 10th anniversary of the “Spirit of Innovation” blimp now housed at Carson’s Goodyear base will take place Tuesday [June 21].
The Carson blimp is the nation’s last GZ-20-model in operation because Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. is replacing its three blimps with modern Zeppelin NTs that are bigger, faster and more modern. Carson expects to get the new model late next year.
