The Spirit of Innovation, the last of Goodyear’s GZ20A blimps, leaves Wednesday (August 26) morning for its new home base in California. This may be the last opportunity to see an “old school” Goodyear blimp in Akron area skies.
The blimp will leave at approximately 9:15 a.m. from the Suffield Township blimp base.
People who want to watch the flight preparations should get to the public observation spot (just East of 841 Wingfoot Lake Road in Suffield) at about 8:45 a.m., the company said.
