Special "Airships" Video

March 10, 2005

Steve Mitchell, the producer of "It's A Gas: Math and Science of the Blimp" will be with us to explain how this project came together.

"It's a Gas ..." is an 11-episode series of educational television programs produced by PBS 45&49.

The series, targeted at 7th through 10th grade science and math students, is being offered to teachers statewide through Ohio's public television stations.  Each episode provides students with an introduction to a specific topic such as buoyancy.  The companion curriculum guide provides teachers with directions to hands-on activities for the classroom.  Each lesson also has a computer-based activity that is available on CD-ROM or over the web.  Each episode features an interview of a Lockheed-Martin engineer, a Goodyear pilot, a Kent State University professor, or The LTA Society's own Joe Huber.  Locations include the Airdock, the LTAS Workshop and Wingfoot Lake.

For more information, check out the "It's a Gas" web site at www.pbs4549.org/blimp.
