A great selection of food and good flying weather made the event a perfect summer evening’s activity.


Wingfoot Lake Park offers a unique view of the Goodyear Airship Operations Hangar, home of "The Spirit of Goodyear" airship.

Eric Brothers prepares to launch his balloon.


Eric’s flight was the longest duration for a single flight, and won the Montgolfier trophy. Unfortunately a crash into trees prevented further flights.


Ren Brown prepares to launch "Patches 2", a reengineered version of last year’s entry.


Bob Dombek’s entry won the coveted Van Orman trophy, for longest combined time of three flights. Bob came from Cincinnati for the event. Bob is pictured on the right.


Rookie contestant Dave Wertz prepares to launch. A crash into the trees on flight #2 kept him out of a chance at the winner’s circle.


Bill Jelen and his son Josh prepare to launch their craft in a unique category, "40 gallon /1 mil trash bag". Through some excelling in field engineering modifications they were able to attain 30 seconds aloft!
